This is one giant of a cigar. This is one of the few cigars at the $10 price point that are worth it and more. It takes me forever to smoke it and therefore I feel I am really getting my moneys worth. The Cameroon wrapper is something special. Its what makes this cigar blend. It imparts sweet tobacco, chocolate notes, black cherry, spice, loads of buttery cream, nuts, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Its literally a circus of flavors and complexity. The best time for this cigar is when the wife and kids are off doing something giving me a few hours at home alone. This cigar is meant to be savored and smoked slowly, but continuously. Its not meant to have lots of interruptions. You lose the complexity if you cant smoke it in one uninterrupted sitting. And this Big Mama deserves a couple hours plus to honor it. One thing in life is sure...I always have a box of Ashtons in my humidor.
Good leather and cedar flavor, mild-medium (I expected more strength, but enjoyed it), well constructed with an even burn. Consistent flavor start to finish. Was disappointed by the total lack of complexity. If someone gave me one of these, I wouldnt turn it down, but for the price there are a dozen other cigars Id rather have in my humidor.
Im a huge fan of Corojo wrappers. This cigar didnt let me down at all. Its got all the goodness of a traditional punch lingring in the background with a hearty dose of pepper up front. Sit down when you smoke one of these bad boys.
