Perdomo Small Batch Maduro
The wrapper was a different story.
The Maduro version of this rare Perdomo blend was fermented to a deep chestnut brown color and then spent months aging in bourbon barrels. This allowed it to infuse with extra flavor, becoming more woody and smoky than the plain leaf. It’s not like the cognac-laden HMR cigars from Gurkha, which knock you over with a booze aroma as soon as you open the tube. Instead, these Perdomo Small Batch Maduro cigars have a light and subtle aroma that tells you they made friends with a whiskey back at the factory.
Small leaves are selected for the sizes and shapes of this line, which also features a Connecticut and a sun-grown version. Each is quite limited due to the rarity of the tobaccos used, and so should be enjoyed accordingly. It’s not every day that you can enjoy tobacco this mature, after all.
The smoke is medium-full in strength. It’s rich and sweet with notes of cereal, espresso bean, and dark chocolate. The Maduro leaf leads the profile, while the aged Cuban-seed tobacco inside the cigar provides a complex and satisfying core of uncommon flavor. The Perdomo Small Batch Maduro cigar is a blend for the patient – for the smokers who want one of the most exclusive experiences on the market.
It’s a special cigar for special occasions.
