Padilla Serie 1968 Golden Bear
The Padilla Serie 1968 line is one of many commemorations the world owes a brave man like Heberto. Fortunately, we can smoke it in a country where we can speak our minds without fear of imprisonment.
The original blend produced by Heberto’s son Ernesto was a Nicaraguan puro. The Golden Bear blend changes things up a bit. We still enjoy the Nicaraguan criollo and Corojo tobacco that made the first release such a spicy pleasure. But now, we get a handsome homegrown Connecticut wrapper to finish things off. The resulting flavor profile is balanced with leather, cedar, and fresh cream notes. It’s an excellent combination that’s highly smokable.
Padilla Serie 1968 Golden Bear cigars are a true homage to the spirit of a man who we all might aspire to be like in our minds. But living as he did is another thing entirely. Ernesto Padilla has done an excellent service to his father’s memory (and his reputation, of course) with his cigar company. We can toast up these blends and consider our path in life, wondering if we’ve got the mettle to take on the powers that be and speak the truth.
Say what’s on your mind. That will always be what a Padilla cigar stands for to us.
