One can trace the La Gloria Cubana story all the way back to 1885 in Cuba. In the 1960s, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Sr. acquired the non-Cuban side of the brand. He set up shop in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami and began producing small batches. In the mid-1970s, his son, Ernesto Jr., wanted to take the brand in a more complex, bolder direction. La Gloria Cubana Obelisco
This is an outstanding little stick. Great draw, construction, flavor, & looks. There is some stiff competition in this price point but this medium bodied wonder trumps the vast majority of them. About the only thing I ever wish for in this stick is a leathery type wrapper but that is just my taste.
