George A. Rico is the fourth generation of the Rico cigar family. The Rico’s cigar roots trace back to 1920s Cuba, where George’s great grandfather grew dark tobacco. The family business was handed over to George’s grandfather in 1946. George’s father Guillermo recalls fondly following his father around the tobacco fields day after day. Along the way, Guillermo soaked up the cigar knowledge of the two preceding generations. This tradition would continue as George and Guillermo launched Gran Habano Cigars in 2003.
George has blended a number of Gran Habano’s most popular cigars. He is also responsible for the Gar line, which bears his initials. Included in this line are G.A.R. Original cigars. The Gar line debuted around 2008 when George and Guillermo decided to go their separate ways, as fathers and sons from time to time do. The good news is that the father and son team reunited, and the Gar line is alive and well.
At the heart of G.A.R. Original cigars, you’ll find choice Nicaraguan long-fillers. Holding these close is an Ecuadorian binder covered by an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper. This leaf delivers flavor notes of cedar and pepper while the rest of the blend adds sweetness and spice to the mix.
Please enjoy G.A.R. Original cigars at your leisure.
