Im not going to go into a long drawn out review here of the Don Carlos No.2 cigars. All I’m going to say in its my favorite cigar of all time! and has been smoked on all my favorite trips around the globe!
These are a great cigar. Smooth and a good hour smoke.
I have a dichotomy. I look forward to work and I dont look forward to work. I hate my job but I like the 50 minute drive. I **** down a Metrx bar and light up an Avo toro. It has a flawless claro wrapper and a good looking band. The construction is uniform but has quite a few veins on one side of the cigar. The other side is like a smooth caramel carpet. The draw is perfect. And has a dead even burn. The first flavors are of nuts and leather. Very mild. The profile is very gentle to begin with. The Classic AVO is not a steam roller of flavors, but instead is a gentle flowing of subtle nuances. The major flavor component is cream. The last third settles into a coffee flavor with the occasional earthiness. While smoking this fine stick, my mind wanders as to what I will smoke on the way home? I also keep a box of AVO Domaines in the humidors. I often smoke that on the way home... Toward the nub in the final third, the creaminess brings a buttery texture and a long and lingering finish. Throughout the cigar,I can name coffee and hazelnuts in the beginning, just a hint of white pepper in the second third and leathery and floral notes in the last third. AVO is not very complex but it provides me what I want first thing in the morning:Consistency. I light up and then dont have a thing to worry about until I park my car in the companys parking lot. I want to hid low behind the steering wheel and smoke AVOs all day long.
I highly recomend this cigar to anyone who enjoys a top of the line cigar. It is spicy but not to much. Has a good sturdy ash and burns evenly. A good relaxing smoke.
The A. Fuente Don Carlos No. 2 is a great cigar that has a lot of flavour. Excellent shape and overall construction. The ultra thin cameroon wrapper is flawless. Great cut and effortless draw. Sweet like molasses with a good earthiness. A touch of cedar and slightly spicey finish round out a great cigar. Medium to full bodied.
