Not My Thing

Review by Big Red on December 29, 2011

Good points: Excellent construction and burn, with pleasing amounts of smoke. Bad points: A distinct lack of dimension in this cigar. Straight tobacco flavor with a subtle amount of herbs.

Padron 6000

Review by Matt Teagarden on April 18, 2007

The Padron 6000 is an excellent choice for medium to full-bodied cigar enthusiasts. It is beautifully constructed and pleasing to the eye. This cigar burned slow and smooth with an excellent draw and lots of smoke. Flavors are pleasing, starting out on the spicy side before becoming richer and fuller.

All hands on deck...

Review by Mark Klein on April 04, 2007

This torpedo from Padron is the bomb, an outstanding stick for around $6. Smoke this rich, spicy yet chocolaty beauty and you can ask your next Pardron Anniversary Whos your daddy?! because the two are a mere stepping stone apart on the flavor spectrum. The roll is flawless, as with most Padrons, and the flavor is the best of the non-Anniversary series. If you dont want to spend the dough, pick up a Padron 2000, which is the best smoking value out there.

Padron 6000 Maduro (torpedo)

Review by Stephen Duca on March 29, 2007

Ive always been a sucker for Padron Maduros, and this one certainly didnt disappoint. Nice-looking, good draw, well-constructed, billows of smoke and rich cocoa/coffee flavors. Highly recommended!

Good Stuff

Review by Cpoling on March 26, 2007

I was a little nervous when a I pulled this one out of the humidor. I got this one from the free sampler here at Cigars Direct. My buddy also got one and he claimed it to be strong and harsh. Well.... he was wrong...really wrong. This was a good flavorful smoke. It is a medium to full bodied cigar. Good construction which holds a long greyish white ash. Full thick smoke when drawn deep. The flavor is rich with a slight woodsy taste. I would recommend this cigar to anyone and most of all I would buy this cigar again.

Padron maduro 6000 (torpedo)

Review by The_Stogemiester on March 23, 2007

Padron maduro 6000 (torpedo) 5.50 x 54 Appereance and Construction (14 of 15 points possible) A solid stick of dark brown chocolate with very nice oils, minimal vein and a good amount of tooth. The cigar is very nicely rolled and the cap is well finished. Flavor (22 of 25 points possible) Peppery Chocolate, earth, and some hardwood on the finish make up the flavor profile of the first 1/4 of the cigar. At about 1/2 way the cigar turns from the peppery chocolate to a creamy cocoa, earth, and a little charred wood on the finish. The cigar started out medium-full but has now evolved into a solid medium body with good complexity. Towards the end the flavor profile takes on some nuttiness with the earth, wood and cocoa dusted on the finish. The cigar finished up a solid medium body with no bitterness, ammonia, or mettalicness present throught. Smoking Characteristics (24 of 25 points possible) The smoke is a nice toasty tobacco with cocoa, smokey wood and a baked goodness. The ash hung on for about 2 before it fell off. The draw was perfect and the cigar burned like a champ from foot to head. Overall Impression (32 of 35 points possible) The Padron k series Maduros are hard to beat, their a little pricey but worth it IMO. This cigar performed well in all areas and is a must try for fans of maduros and well rounded medium bodied cigars. Total Score - 92

Outstanding

Review by Matt K. on March 22, 2007

One of the betters NCs Ive ever had. Started with heavy spice and leather flavors. Progressed toward a more woody flavor and ended on a slightly sweet note. Will definitely have to try again.

I gave up on it when it started getting "hot"...

Review by Andy Beasley on March 18, 2007

I mean physically hot. You know, burning my fingers and lips hot. 3/4 of an inch (nub) hot. This smoke started out with a nice leather and black pepper flavor that stayed pretty consistent throughout the cigar. There was a nice mocha or cocoa finish after about an inch of burn. The ash was very sturdy and had to be helped off when it was about an inch and a half long. I do mean helped, with a crowbar. The burn was slightly inconsistent and had to be touched up twice, but not too much. The wrapper was virtually flawless with no large veins. It was still smooth when I put it down. And it really was 3/4-measured with a ruler. I have a picture.

A highly recommended maduro

Review by Ed from CA on March 16, 2007

What a pleasant surprise after the Padron 2000 (5x50) I smoked a while back. This is a very flavorful, medium-full bodied cigar with notes of cocoa and earth, and a very even burn. The ash was very white and solid, and could have stayed on indefinitely, but after a couple of inches I knocked it off into the ashtray, since I was at the cigar lounge and dont like to make an accidental mess in someone elses house. A highly recommended maduro!

6000 huh

Review by Bradley Russell on March 11, 2007

It wasnt the best cigar Ive had but it certainly wasnt the worst. The draw wasnt great, but the flavor wasnt bad, seemed to have a very peppery taste at the end. Overall an average cigar.

Great Cigar

Review by Anthony Gutierrez on March 11, 2007

Beautiful, oily dark wrapper jumps out immediately. Great flavors throughout with dark chocolate, leather and a hint of sweetness on the finish. A truly great Padron.

A good example of a maduro cigar

Review by abates on March 10, 2007

It has the flavor of a good maduro: sweet chocolate and well aged tobacco. Its rich and full bodied with a spicy finish. A bold red wine made a fine counterpart to this cigar. Its strong enough that those who are maduro newbies might want to have a full stomach before lighting up.

Another great Padron

Review by Adam Aleksander on March 09, 2007

I thoroughly enjoyed this well rolled cigar from start to finish. Rich and full tasting, this deep, leathery smoke had a nice, long aftertaste and wonderful complexity and depth. I have never been disappointed by the Padrons.

Padron 6000

Review by Hanna Cyba on March 09, 2007

A beautiful cigar with a smooth draw and a warm, medium aftertaste. Well rounded, meaty smoke with hints of earthiness; overall, a great value. I will make sure to always have some of these in my collection.

Tasty

Review by Craig S. on March 08, 2007

This was a wonderfully smooth tasting cigar and the appearance was quite pleasing. Found this to be a medium smoke, with plenty of rich smoke. I dont like smoking out in the cold, but this took the edge off nicely.

Nothing special, mediocre draw

Review by West LA Martin on March 07, 2007

Frankly, I do not get the high marks given by the other reviewwers. While this cigar was nicelt constructed and a good looking smoke (a Montecristo look alike), the flavor was lacking and the draw was not very good. Nice ash and all, but I was not that impressed with this smoke (and I have tried other Padrons in this line, even when the draw was OK, not a fan of the flavor). I much prefer the Fonseca Vintage or the Gran Habana 3 Siglos which as at least a 1/3 less in price. Sorry fellows no more than a 5 from me.

Padron

Review by Badkarma on March 07, 2007

I am going to have to say I didnt like this cigar. It did not burn even and tasted green I gave it a 7 because I think after some time in a humidor it would age into a decent stick

Padron 6000

Review by Mark Richeson on March 07, 2007

As you would expect from the Padron family of cigars the Padron 6000 has a perfect burn. It starts with a full flavor and stays consistent until finished. This cigar is a good second choice behind the anniversary series. Overall great cigar.

Good Maduro

Review by A. Eppert on March 06, 2007

Effortless draw, smooth, good thick rich smoke. Not as good as the Anniversary series in my book, but a quality cigar you have to try.

Padron 6000

Review by jaybo on March 05, 2007

Id go 7.5-8.0 on this one. Classic Padron profile on this starting with appearance and contruction. Leathery, earthy flavors dominated the cigar. This is a great every day cigar.

Fantastic Cigar!

Review by Jeff K on March 04, 2007

Gorgeous looking smoke. Flawless construction as evidence by the ash hanging on almost to the end of the cigar. What a smooth finish. What is keeping this cigar from being higher is that the draw was a little tough at times.

Padron 6000 Maddie is a Goodie

Review by Dan Bulzacchelli on March 03, 2007

Next to the Anniversary Series, this is my favorite Padron. Perfect construction, perfect draw and a perfect burn. All the things we expect from Padron. Strarts off spicy and full bodied, then smooths out into a wonderful smoke with a nice strong finish. This a great cigar to smoke while driving because you dont have to worry about the ash falling off. it stays glued on for just about the whole smoke.

Review by Ev-Monster on March 03, 2007

Heres the breakdown: Appearance - 8.5 (dark and juicy) Draw - 9.0 (effortless) Taste - 9 (cocoa, pepper, smooth) Finish - 10 (one of the best finishes in the business) Value - 7 (not cheap) Overall, an extremely enjoyable cigar. Cant go wrong here.

Great Smoke

Review by Aaron Jackson on March 02, 2007

This was one of the four free cigars I received from CigarsDirect.com as part of their monthly giveaway. As with all cigar reviews this one is subjective, but let me just say, all cigars should be this good. Appearance/Construction–14: Flawless construction. Beautiful shape. Nice wrapper leaf with one rather large vein. Smoking Characteristics–21: Easy to medium draw with plenty of smoke. Even burn. Very white ash with tight concentric circles. Perfect cone after each ashing. Flavor–23: This cigar was just good. I tasted a little leather, quite a bit of cocoa and just a hint of spice toward the end. Not overly complex, but very consistent and just plain good. On the mild side of medium. Overall Impression–32: Very well made. Magnificent taste. Beautiful burn. I’m going to get more of these in the future. Final Score–90: Outstanding

Mmmmmmmmaduro

A great cigar. Not the cheapest from Padron, but still agood value. If you are into medium/full bodies maduros, smoke these. Full of coffee and cocoa flavors.

Padron 6000 Maduro

Review by Steve Taylor on January 26, 2007

My preference for this cigar is the maduro. It comes close to the flavors and consistency of the 1926, for half the price. Its flavor can carry a sklight bite about 2/3 through, but then youll be pinching the tapered end as long as you can hold it. One of the best cigars I have smoked for the price.
