ABOUTPadilla Reserva Habano

There is a region in Nicaragua that produces some of the finest tobaccos anywhere. Habano leaf grown here is considered the best in the world. Esteli is the birthplace of the delicious Padilla Habano Cigars. The region is also where Padron grows Habano leaf for its Anniversary lines and where Oliva raises tobacco for their Serie O cigars. These cigars from Padilla hold their own with Padron, Oliva or any other Nicaraguan cigars…any cigars at all, their fans would say, and the honest aficionado would be hard pressed to find reason to deny it. Don’t deny. Instead, indulge your senses in these great cigars that offer full flavor and strength that is medium to full.

Fire up a classic-looking and smoking Padilla Habano Torpedo and the aromatic smoke will billow prodigiously. Your attention will immediately be drawn to what you taste. Big helpings of roasted nuts topped with caramel notes and java undertones predominate early on. As the stick works past halfway the complexity deepens to include notes of cedar and more spice. Each draw is interesting; each finish is smooth and crisp.

The Padilla Habano Toro cigars are a stouter vitola that shows off the fine tailoring of the line. You’ll notice the smooth Habano wrapper is flawless. The stick is firm but never hard. The draw is what you make it with your cut, but this is a stick many enthusiast enjoy opening up a bit so they can take in more in every delicious draw. It’s smooth enough for that practice and will never burn or turn bitter. These Padilla cigars have been a bit overlooked in the crowded Habano field, to say nothing of the attention given to other Padilla lines. But again, you’ll find they are as good as many of the best. The price point is as pleasing as the taste and a box or two of your favorite sizes won’t set you back nearly as badly as comparably rated Habano cigars with bigger names.
