ABOUTFonseca Habana Seleccion
Quesada, a native of the
The Habana Seleccion produces that distinctive full-bodied creamy richness found in cigars with a deep Cuban heritage, a quality that supports the overlying notes of coffee and wood with an aftertaste of toasted wheat. As the smoking progresses, the taste shifts to dark-roasted coffee with a strong undercurrent of sweetness, countered by a very subtle salty citrus tang in the wrapper with these Fonseca Cigars.
The Fonseca Habana Seleccion has a slightly firm draw, producing a fine nimbus of white smoke. While the burn can be a bit uneven probably the result of an errant vein or two in the wrapper, this cigar still doesn’t need a lot of tending and fussing.
The Habana Seleccion, like many limited-release cigars, tends to be in short supply. The demand for this outstanding cigar also lends to its rarity. If you are able to score a box or two of these, make sure one of them is stashed in the far corner of the humidor. Keep the other one close at hand, because you’ll want to sample one of these beauties as soon as you get them home. Pour a couple of fingers of bourbon in your best crystal tumbler, settle deeply into your favorite chair, and light up a Habana Seleccion. This could take a while. What a shame. >
