Review by Aubrey Genry on March 26, 2011

This is a spectacular cigar. The history on each one is something else. The complex taste comes from Dominican fillers, aged 4-5 years. The astounding Connecticut wrapper is aged an extra year, resulting in its smooth and butter cream flavor. A total of seven years seed to your mouth! Their flavors and aromas are always consistent. Thats a huge reason I buy these with regularity. Consistency is everything. How often do you light up a stick and cross your fingers? This stick has a perfect construction without veins and is solid without soft spots. Its worth the extra dough knowing that each time I light one up, there will be no surprises. It is what it is. Very few cigars can say that. I also like the fact that they advertise it has a flavor profile of graham cracker and sure as hell, it does. Im diabetic and for some reason there is no such thing as a sugar free graham cracker...at least not at the stores I frequent. Im sure if you want to spend $18 for a box, theyre out there. Anyway, the graham cracker crust is a very long finish and I just love that. I smack my lips like a cow. LOL! I also get a tiny bit of spice through the nose. That is pleasant and refreshing. In fact, the finish increases with a cayenne taste and smoky wood notes. I have never had a bad burning stick. The ash is a solid gray and will continue to build and build until you are ready to knock it off. The Ashton people have a strange way to name their sizes. They use either regal sounding names or numbers. Nothing in between. Im smoking a toro but its 6-1/4 x 52. Huh? Every toro in the world is 6 x 50. Period. Is it all about the blend? Or an innate desire to be special? I have no idea. Bottom line...this is a special cigar as are all of the Cabinet Series. Theyre a bit pricey at $10 a stick. But I dont bring these out when the mooches come over. I am selfish and keep them all to myself.
