Review by Jamile Shaheen on August 03, 2011

A good everyday smoke with a little creamy flavor. But on the light side,a good after dinner smoke with whiskey.

Hemingway WOA

Review by Matt Teagarden on March 20, 2007

The Hemingway WOA is typical of Fuente - excellent construction and very appealing to the eye. Smooth, even draw with lots of smoke. A little short on flavor, at least compared to other Fuente sticks.

Hemingway rocks!

Review by Buddy Wagner on March 11, 2007

The first time I had one of these was at Casa Fuente and I was shocked. I expected this smoke to be light and just so-so. I wasnt even close. This was a nice after dinner and drinks cigar that wasnt to heavy, actually was medium with a clean draw, great burn, and beautiful construction. Creamy is a great way to describe this cigar, and I enjoyed it so much I couldnt believe it when I looked down and had no cigar left.

I rate this Hemingway better than the Don Carlos. Good burn and draw. Smooth with a good taste.

Review by Roland on February 27, 2007

The pre-light smell is very light. The pre-cut taste is of light cream. The test draw is firm and the unlit taste is creamy. The first puff is rich and almost sweet, creamy with no after taste. After a few minutes a rich earth and cream taste with a little spice starts to come out. The taste has evened out to a mellow earth and light sweet. The after taste is a light black pepper. Very smooth in texture. There are no burn issues. At the half way point there is still the earthy taste but a caramel note appears. The after taste has built to a very rich earth and a mild black pepper. The last two inches are burning hotter but the flavor is still there. The earthy flavor is transitioning to more of a spice. The draw is getting harder. Coffee hints are present.

I love the shape of this wornderful cigar. It has an open draw and is consistent all the way through. With my busy work and home schedule, this is the perfect cigar for a quick getaway.

excellent balanced smoke, perfect for the cool damp weather of winter. Most relaxing when done with an Armagnac.

Sweet but Sassy

Review by Anthony Gutierrez on February 25, 2007

Very rough looking wrapper for a Fuente. Great earthy/sweet flavors throughout. Perfect draw, which can be a problem with small figurados. Long finish, leaves you wanting more.

This stogie certainly lives up to its name - a great, leathery, silky smoke that lingers on and on... and at a great price too for this work of art.

Hemingway - Id rather smoke it than read it

Review by Gerry the GMAN on February 25, 2007

Along with the Don Carlo, Hemingway is a great cigar. If is smooth, burns well, and the favor is even through out the smoke. Not quite as good as a Don Carlos, but Id still jump at the chance to smoke a Hemingway.

I agree with the reviewers comparison to the Hemingway Short Story, another fine smoke. This cigar has many earthy tones and is medium to full bodied. Enjoy

Will try again

Review by Jonathan Rohrbach on February 25, 2007

This was my first time smoking this type of cigar. I enjoyed the flavor, but the wrapper split soon after I lit the cigar. The burn was uneven and the draw was tighter than I like. That being said I will give it another shot in the future.

Work of Art

Review by Jeff Hutcheson on February 25, 2007

Dont get me wrong this cigar is quite good, though I simply prefer the short story as the sizes are similar and the tastes are virtually the same, which is a testament to the consistency of the hemmingway line but I can not justify to myself the large price difference between this vitola and the short story, go with the short story you wont be dissapointed

Work of Art Fuente Hemmingway

Review by Steve Taylor on February 25, 2007

IN line with the Short Story and the BEst Seller, this is a great mild to medium strength cigar, gerat for morning smoke. Burns with a good solid even ash. Flavor is rich for such a mild to medium body. Toward the end the flavor heightens with a sweetness reminescent of vanilla. Short but nice finish!

Fuente Work of Art

Review by Billy Haboush on February 18, 2007

I love the Figurado shape. The cigars are usually a little too tight in places, but this cigar had a great draw all the way through. The prelight bouquet was musty and woody. Once lit, you could tell this was one from the A. Fuente line. The finish was nutty but hung on the palate too long. The wrapper was decent as was the amount of smoke. Not my favorite cigar, but not my worst either.

What a Work Of Art

Review by John Such on February 17, 2007

I have to say, Ive been a Hemingway fan since my first one. The construction was flawless and those pigtails let you know this is a Fuente.Rich and smooth with a little sweetness. The draw was effortless just wish this like other shorter cigars was just a bit longer. I guess this also keeps us coming back for more.

Fuente Work of Art

Review by Billy Haboush on February 12, 2007

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? This Work of Art is just that. This cigar had a great burn, great ash, lots of dense smoke, and was a mild to medium smoke. The first few minutes, it was a little spicy, but mellowed quickly. Not my favorite, but not my worst either.

Arturo Fuente - Hemmingway - Work of Art

Review by s***********@y****.com on February 10, 2007

Arturo Fuente - Hemmingway - Work of Art - 4.88 x 46-60 A beautiful cigar to gaze at, from the bulbous perfecto tip to the well finished Beli style head. The wrapper is a deep dark nut brown with minimial veins and an oily sheen. Nice and solidly built, it has a nice feel in the hand. Mesquite, earth and some slitghtly sweet nuttiness make up the core of flavors at the beggining of the perfecto tip. At 1/4 a way in the body of the cigar picks up a bit still showing mesquite, a little tangy-ness on the earth, and some coffee on the medium finish. The cigar is a medium bodied smoke that at times proved to be a ever so smooth medium-full bodied smoke. A nice complex flavor that proved to be smooth and exihibit some finesse without becoming bitter or harsh. A very pleastant aroma of toasted tobacco, some earthiness and baked goodness fill the air. The cigar did have some uneven burn issues that were corrected by a couple of touch-ups, nothing major. The ash rode for 2 before I knocked it off. The draw was pretty free and produced loads of smoke. This cigar is visually a work of art, and aside from the couple of touch ups it was almost perfect in terms of construction. IMO they have the best flavor profile of all the Hemingway series, even the Short Story. A cigar that has stunning good looks, nice flavor, complexity and a little of everything. If you like the Hemmingway series and have not yet tried this one, give it a shot.

A true work of art.

Review by Austin Keay on February 09, 2007

The A. Fuente Hemingway Work of Art is just that, a true work of art. The unique shape is just the beginning of the story here. Encased in a flawless wrapper leaf, the work of art burns like a dream. A great combination of spice and earthiness along with some toastiness and slight leather and cedar notes make this one complex smoke that is smooth and well rounded. Medium to full bodied this is one story youll want to revisit again and again.

Hemingway Work Of Art

Review by Eli Halabu on February 09, 2007

The Hemingway Work Of Art is the best example of what makes Fuente the benchmark for versitility. A great cigar for all occations, and for any level cigar smoker. Goes great with a scotch or coffee. The cigar starts out more mild and builds to a medium body with a creamy, spicy, and slight nut mix in flavor that is consitant all the way through. Great Smoke!

Work Of Art

Review by Shawn Varner on February 08, 2007

Beautiful smoke thats what my cigar buddies said when I brought this baby out. Unfortunately it was not the most flavorful. Not as peppery as the short story, definitely woody and nutty. Great ash, great burn, mild to medium, with a not as open draw as I like. A good smoke but not my favorite in the Fuente line.

Overall I was unimpressed with the Hemmingway Work of Art. While it looks nice and had a good burn, the flavor was unspectacular - average at best.

Review by David Schwartz on February 04, 2007

The Hemingway Work of Art is a wondeful cigar. Thw wrapper was a bit veiny but smoked smooth and tasty. The burn was even and smoked cool down to the nub. The Work of Art had a very nice nutty taste and easy draw delivering plenty of smoke. I found it to be medium bodied and would be a good cigar to smoke anytime of the day.

A Great Fuente

Review by JohnM on February 03, 2007

If you are a lover of finely made, solid, tasty cigars with Cameroon wrappers, then you have found your BEST FRIEND in the WOA!! This cigar was a treat, with wonderful slight spice from the wrapper, and as always, the Fuentes make the most consistent, fantastic cigars. Do yourself a favor, and grab a few of these, you will not be sorry!!!

Lives up to the name

Review by Ed on February 03, 2007

A beautifully well constructed cigar caressed by a flawlessly smooth wrapper with an excellent sweet prelight aroma. A great draw with a great deal of white smoke, and notes of spice and nuts. The Work Of Art leaves you wanting more, so you may want to have at least a couple on hand so you can have another when your first one is finished. Ive said it before and Ill say it again, you cant go wrong with Fuente!

even better than before

Review by Richard Plasencia on February 02, 2007

If you like the Hemingway Short Story, youre gonna love this smoke. Just a bit longer than the Short Story and just as flavorful. Starts out mild and as you get midway through, the flavor builds to a medium strength smoke. Leather, nutty, and spice. It never loses its creamy and full rounded flavor. Quickly becoming one of my favorites. Was even better this time with a nice scotch.

Hemingway Work of Art

Review by Tim Groza on February 01, 2007

An attractive tawny brown wrapper with minimal veins and sweet prelight aroma. Burn was a little uneven but it corrected itself. Draw was impeccable. Excellent sweet aroma. Perfect construction and great flavor. This small cigar produced a huge volume of smoke. Some spiciness was evident, but not much for me. It also has a nutty taste too it. All in all, this is a medium bodied smoke that is superbly constructed and thoroughly enjoyable, at least to my palatte.
