The only thing I love more than a good cigar…
...is a good cigar with a great story!
Now, lately I’ve been on a bold, full-flavored kick with my smokes, namely the Liga Privada T52 Belicoso.
So when I found out that this stick was born from an outright epic quest for the perfect wrapper, I was intrigued to find out so much care had gone into the search. And that’s why I decided to honor Drew Estate’s efforts (and “badassery”) as...
...Juan’s Badass Cigar of the Week, the Liga Privada T52 Belicoso!
Jonathan Drew (the owner of Drew Estate), scoured entire continents looking for this “perfect leaf,” as he calls it. And he found it in the state of Connecticut!
He stumbled upon a farm in the state that was growing the unique “Stalk Cut Tobacco” while on a trip to purchase his Connecticut Broadleaf. On his site he recounts trying to maintain his composure, when he realized the leaf had the exact color and thickness qualities he’d been “flying all over the damn world looking for.”
I love this cigar because of it’s exquisitely lush flavor. It’s packed with incredibly dense full body notes of earthy espresso. And not a hint of harshness. This vitola is best described in one word: Satisfying.
And it’s no surprise. This stick blends 7 distinct tobaccos from 7 different vegas. The wrapper is hand fermented for over 18 months, and the cigar itself is aged for over a year...
That’s some badass attention to detail and quality!
Ready to try one for yourself?
As always with the Badass Cigar of the Week, I'd love for you to do one of two things:
