Cigar Review: You can't go wrong with a Short Story, especially when you're in the mood for a super premium and don't feel you have the luxury of an hour or more to spend on a bigger stick. That happens to me fairly often, and that's why I like to always have some on hand.

Cigar Review: I call this stick "old reliable" because I have been enjoying them for years. Each time they have never disappointed. I am surprised that I have not reviewed this cigar previously. The Short Story and myself go way back to my second job out of college. This was my first real job in which I was able to afford higher quality smokes that were over five bucks back in the early 1990's. My boss, Joe introduced me to the Hemingway series and have been addicted since. The Hemingway Short Story is a perf... More details

"A Nice Little Quickie"

Cigar Review: If you are limited on time, then the hemingway short story is a good way to go. It usually burns for 25 to 30 minutes, but seems to get better as it burns. With a good overall flavor and aroma, the short story is a nice little cigar.

Cigar Review: The AF Short Story is a treat for the eyes and the palate. Wrapped in a beautiful oily tan wrapper it had a light pleasent aroma pre-light. The tip lit easily and transferred an even burn to the main barrel of the cigar and burned consistantly throughout. The ash formed a beautiful cone and remained a consistant un-mottled grey. Smoke volume was average. The cigar started out medium and became more robust as it burned. An earthy flavor with some peppery bite made the cigar quite enjoyable. Pleas... More details

Cigar Review: Arturo Fuente - Hemingway Short Story A Beautiful Tan-Brown wrapper with excellent tooth and a nice oily sheen caress's this cigar. A well constructed stogie that is easy on the eyes. Sweet Wood, earth and some spice round up most of the flavor profile of this medium bodied smoke. The cigar also develops some additional flavors as you smoke it such as mellow cream and some occasional graham cracker notes on the medium finish. The short story always needs a little toughing up right at the beginni... More details

Cigar Review: What a fine smoke! Outstanding Arturo Fuente construction and a perfect burn and nice white ash ash. Great flavors of creamy rich vanilla, spice, hints of nutmeg and cinnamon and even some cocoa in there, Very comlex smoke and very satifying as well. This is a classic smoke.

Cigar Review: The Hemingway Short Story further proves the saying,"Good things come in small packages". Expertly constructed (as all Fuentes are)with an even burn throughout. Starts smooth and mild,as the ash begins to form the flavor comes through. Hints of cedar, nuts, and spices. A great 35+ minute smoke.

Cigar Review: The Hemingway Short Story is a one of a kind cigar. It has all the makings of a great smoke! Mild to medium with full flavor, extremely well made, and great balance throughout the 30 mins of the smoke. Fuente is one of the best companies around, and cigars like this prove why!

Mark Klein on Thursday, January 25, 2007 10:00:51 AM

8

Cigar Review: Fuente gets right to the point on this flavorful figurado. The cedar hits immediately with a nice spicy accompaniment. There is no time to build up flavor with different fillers along the way so once the tip starts burning what you taste is what you get throughout the short smoke which, by the way, is appreciated by anyone who has young kids. Despite its finger-length stature, it delivers a spicy, medium-bodied smoke. The next step up: The Hemmingway Work of Art, only because the larger size all... More details

Cigar Review: It's been years since I've smoked a short story. Still the best small smoke on the market. Typical Fuente-great flavor, flawless construction. Too small for my liking, but a few great puffs if you're in a hurry.

"The Little Hemmingway"

8

Cigar Review: This little cigar has great flavor and burns well. Its the perfect size for these cold Michigan winters (its a little cold smoking out in the garage). A good medium body with a nice spicy flavor. And as an added bonus the size allows for more to fit in the humi.

"A Short Story"

Billy Haboush on Saturday, January 20, 2007 12:02:50 PM

8

Cigar Review: I've always liked Fuente cigars. They are great cigars with great flavors. The Short Story is no exception. Prelit bouquet was nutty, much like walnuts or almonds. Once lit, you could tell this cigar was aged well. The nutty flavors increased with some ‘burnt wood’ flavors mixed in as well. The draw was wonderful, the construction was well done. All in all, a great smoke for the drive into work, OR the drive back home from work.

9

Cigar Review: The Hemingway Short Story is a Perfecto shape that measures 4 X 48. The cigar lasted 50 minutes,. This is a lot longer than I expected for a cigar of it size. It had hints spice including black pepper and anis. Halfway through this cigar I could start to also taste some roasted nuts. I smoked this cigar all the way down to a nub, which I usually do not do with cigars. You should buy a box today!

Cigar Review: The Hemingway Short Story is an excellent half hour indulgence. It is smooth, creamy, and rich but not overbearing. Easily lit, it maintains a nice long ash. It is simply one of the finest “dog walkers” I’ve ever had. This cigar has body, loaded with flavor and is consistent to the end. There was a hint of walnut almost throughout the smoke and it finished so well I had to smoke this stick right down to a nub! I’ve heard it said that these are a little pricey, but I think they are well worth it!

Cigar Review: THE HEMINGWAY SHORT STORY IS A GOOD MILD CIGAR,THE CIGAR HAS TONS OF EASY DRAWN SMOKE . IT STAYED LIT FOR ITS ENTIRE SHORT LIFE WITH CONSTANT SOMEWHAT NUTTY FLAVOR. AT THE END IT WAS TO HOT TO HANDLE SO I HAD TO PUT IT OUT, GREAT MORNING CIGAR

9

Cigar Review: This is my 2nd experience with the SS and in each case, flawless quality comes along with this Fuente product. The Colorado wrapper boasted a cocoa-tinged walnut colour embellished with burnt umber streaks, as well as dark coffee markings. Burn was absolutely perfect from tip to nub requiring no relights. Ash was very firm, grey at the perimeter to charcoal at the center. Aroma was :Hemmingway", a bouquet of medium tobacco and coffee with an ancilliary scent of musty cedar. Flavor, while not str... More details

Cigar Review: Where to start....I am a huge fan of Fuente cigars and the Short Story doesn't dissapoint. A medium bodied cigar with a touch of sweetness thanks to the Cameroon wrapper. The thing I noticed most was the incredibly white ash of the cigar. This denotes that Fuente took much care and time to age this cigar befor releasing it. My only complaint was it was too short. A truly enjoyable smoke.

Cigar Review: Being the shortest I'd smoked I was a little skeptical. But this little bad boy fulfilled my needs with a great flavor and smooth maintenance free burn. One of the few cigars that I smoked all the way down to my finger tips.

Cigar Review: The Hemmingway Short Strory is a full flavored smoke with a great draw. The shape makes the beginnign draws a little tight but it looses up nicely allowing all the flavor to come through nicely.

"Short in size, big in flavor"

David Schwartz on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 9:11:18 AM

10

Cigar Review: The Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story is the perfect short smoke. The cameroon wrapper has a nice chocolate colored hue to it. Draws nice and easy and the ash held on to the band. The Short Story has a nutty flavor that lingers on the palate nicely. This cigar is perfect for those times when you can't linger over a cigar. On the other hand it is perfect for any time of the day.

"Hemmingway Short Story"

Cigar Review: I received the Short Story with much anticipation. I let it sit in the humidor for a week and pulled it out looking forward to a delightful smoke, I was not disappointed. - It was perfectly rolled - had a nice medium brown wrapper - with a light oily sheen - It lit easily - and burned even better - I smoked it down to my finger tips. Worth every penny and the wait.

"Awesome little cigar"

Austin Keay on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 1:44:14 PM

9

Cigar Review: The Hemingway Short Story is a little cigar that packs mouthfuls of flavour. You can smoke this down in 30 minutes easily or let the peppery, woodsy, and somewhat nutty flavour captivate you for close to an hour. Not a great morning smoke by any means and I like a little more body and spice for the end of the day, so this little beauty fits well almost any other time of day with out requiring an hour to finish. Smokes well with a good draw, but the shape really steals some of the show. I would h... More details

Cigar Review: This Cameroon wrapped perfecto had a nice oily sheen on a flawless wrapper. Prelight draw as a tad bit tight but upon lighting, it loosened up nicely. Flavor packed creamy little smoke with that unforgetable camaroon spice. The burn was perfect. A complex gem that lasted 35 minutes.

"Arturo Fuente Short Story"

8

Cigar Review: I've wanted to sample one of these since I read its accolades last year. It is a friendly cigar with a subtle sweetness, medium in strength. While I have yet to become bored with standard cigar construction, I enjoyed the exotic design of the Short Story. At only 5" in length, I would have expected a shorter smoke than the 45 minutes I enjoyed. But I really didn't want to put it down.

8

Cigar Review: Little Powerhouse thats what I would call this. Great shape, I love it, the wrapper is beautiful. Starts off mild building in intensity. A little peppery but not to spicy, builds nicely though to a thorough woodsy taste; cedar taste. Takes a little longer than you would think, but burns consistently, no boating, and the ash has these great rings that show the depth of this shorty. I would have rated it higher but the flavor was not completely to my liking. But thats the great thing about cigars ... More details

Cigar Review: This little cigar is everything you want in a short period of time. Nice spice tones, great burn and draw. Smokes like a champion. I consider this a go to cigar and is perfect for short time smoke opportunities. With this in your humidor there is no more "I don't have time for a smoke" excuses.

"Hemingway Short Story"

Greg Berry on Sunday, January 14, 2007 9:04:45 PM

8

Cigar Review: This is labeled on the site as a Perfecto shape, similar to other makers who describe the shape as a Figurado. The 48 ring size only applies to the largest bulge of the cigar, and it tapers down to not a lot bigger than cigarette size at the cap. It’s a full-bodied smoke, would be great with a nice full-bodied glass of wine after dinner. I’m a punch user unless the cigar’s a Torpedo, but I needed to pull a bit too hard. It gets better after the first half-inch, and it really stepped up in draw a... More details

Cigar Review: The Hemingway Short Story is a great read. Starts with a mild sweetness and builds to a medium bodied smoke that is deceptively long for the size of the cigar. Beautiful ash, and a true finger burner with its tapered shape. A delightful cigar!

"Beautifully made cigar."

Robert Mckiewicz on Sunday, January 14, 2007 3:12:20 PM

8

Cigar Review: I received the Short Story with much anticipation. It was perfectly rolled, had a nice medium brown wrapper, with a light oily sheen. It lit easily, and burned even better. I smoked it for 43 minutes, down to the last inch. I think more humi time would have helped tone down the overpowering black pepper that masked the other more subdued flavors. The smoke produced was copious, and the ash, an even light grey. A snifter of brandy, or cognac would have made my experience more enjoyable,
