Available cigars by Fonseca include:
The Fonseca brand is a standard among mild-mannered cigars, proving that “mild” doesn’t have to mean “boring.” From the brand’s founding in 1892 by Don Francisco Fonseca to the present day, the enterprise has always been known for fine tobacco products. Now part of a conglomerate comprised of the Castaneda and Montero names as well as itself, Fonseca avails itself of the blending expertise of the legendary Manuel Quesadas. The cigars that emerge from its Dominican Republic facility find their way to a market that’s always willing to invest in a fine smoking experience.
The Fonseca brand has its roots in the long-ago Cuban cigar industry and the almost mythical tobaccos of the Cibao Valley. All the best cigars are hand rolled in the Dominican Republic of mostly Dominican fillers—the wrappers have various origins within the Central American neighborhood. For example, the fabled Habana Seleccion avails itself of a tasty Cuban Criollo grown in Nicaragua, fermented and then aged at least five years to yield an extra-smooth taste.
While individual Fonseca products have their own distinct tastes, each has a certain quintessential robustness and complexity. No matter what your personal cigar preference may be, there’s likely to be a Fonseca that will satisfy your desire for a fine cigar. You can choose a Dominican puro or a stalwart Maduro. You can enjoy one of the traditional “F” series or indulge in a newer Habana Seleccion. No time for a leisurely smoke but crave a cigar? A 4.50 X 44 Habana Seleccion Cadet serves nicely. What will you take with you to the golf course on Saturday morning? A 7.00 X 50 Fonseca 10-10 will keep you company on the front nine.
