Making a Straight Ligero cigar requires a unique understanding of the leaf. Ligero comes from the top of the tobacco plant. Its direct exposure to the sun darkens and thickens this leaf. Smaller than leaves lower on the plant, it also enjoys a concentration of nutrients. Habano Seed Ligero is recognized as the most full flavored leaf on a plant.
Additionally, the region in which this Habano Seed is grown plays a significant role in its flavor and strength.

Oliva Serie O Cigars
The Oliva family began growing tobacco in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba in 1886. The family eventually began searching other countries for the fertile ground necessary to create the distinct Cuban cigar taste sought after by enthusiasts and growers alike. They eventually found that ground in Nicaragua and Oliva’s operations today are the second largest Cuban-seed tobacco production in Nicaragua. The Serie O is a Nicaraguan Puro that features a Sun Grown wrapper. It is made using the Cuban tradition of growing the same Habano seed in diverse regions of the country – Esteli, Condega and the Jalapa Valley – to produce a distinct and unique blend. The result is a rich smoke with notes of dark tobacco, cedar and spice. One of the first blends produced by Oliva, the Serie O received a 92 rating from Cigar Aficionado magazine. Take one taste of the Serie O and you’ll understand why.
