From its construction to its blend of tobaccos, this is one cigar that will make long-time Cuban aficionados weep for joy. The Miami has the distinctive triple cap, pigtail twist, and full-bodied fine flavor found only in the legendary cigars from the Caribbean island.
Only the best would do for this cigar. The wrapper and binder are both Corojo, embracing straightforward Criollo filler. This is a cigar with no bells, whistles, dogs, or ponies. The Padilla Miami is simply a robust Cuban, full-bodied without harshness.
Its remarkable quality construction lends a characteristic firmness and springiness before it is lit. Production runs are limited, the better to maintain a high standard of quality control.
While under burn, the Miami emits lots of very satisfying smoke, but the real attraction is the taste. The aroma is deceptively mild. The flavor isn’t.
The Padilla Miami has that fine uncomplicated “real” cigar flavor sought by connoisseurs. Woody and indefinable savory notes emerge, floated along on a base of creamy smoothness. This is not to say that the finish is delicate or precious. The Miami gives that beloved sharp nip at the end that Cuban fans crave.
